There are 3 ways to solve 2 equations with 2 unknowns. One way is graphing the two equations and look at which point they intersect. The second way in by substitution. The way substitution works, you solve one equation the best you can. Once you get this far you plug your product of the first equation into the second equation and solve then plug it into the first equation for the unknown and solve. The last way is by elimination. With elimination, all you do is subtract the first and second equations from each other as far as you can and then solve. My favorite way to solve these types of problems is by graphing.
